Glenmorangie 18 year old
Part of Glenmorangie’s Prestige Range, this 18 year old spent its first 15 years in American white oak bourbon casks. After this time, 30% was transferred to Oloroso sherry casks where it spent its final days, as the rest remained in bourbon casks. After 18 years has passed in total, the whisky was reunited and bottled at 43% ABV.
Creamy and tangy aromas of citrus, cinnamon, stewed fruits and caramel-drizzled pannacotta. The palate is tropical and creamy with nectarines in yoghurt, acacia honey, peaches in cream and butterscotch. Ends on tangy oak and grilled grapefruit with plenty of dark sugar caramelised on top.
Glen Garioch Adelphi 1998 18 year old
This is a 1998 vintage Glen Garioch from renowned independent bottler Adelphi. This was aged for 18 years in cask 3741, which judging from the colour used to contain sherry, and bottled in 2016 at full strength of 56.3%.
Aromas of caramel apple, hearty malt and a hint of rose petal jam. Plenty more orchard fruit on the palate, orange pear and cherry in particular. The finish has raspberries, digestive biscuits and fudge
Clynelish Signatory 1995 20 year old
This is a Sherried Clynelish from the fantastic Signatory folks. This was distilled in September 1995, matured in a refill Sherry butt and bottled in March 2016 for the Cask Strength Collection. 626 bottles were produced.
Aromas of waxy red apples, allspice, raisins, tobacco and gingerbread. More gingerbread on the palate, now with chocolate icing. Light hints of peat, butterscotch and mocha. A long finish with honey and sea salt
Stratchclyde Cadenhead 26 year old Single Grain
A tasty single grain whisky distilled back in November 1992 and placed into a bourbon barrel for over quarter of a century. When it was 26 years old, the cask was opened and the whisky was bottled at 50.6% ABV, with a limited release of 199 bottles.
Aromas of caramelised brown sugar, banana pancakes, a touch of berry sweetness and creamy vanilla. The palate has creamy grain sweetness, with vanilla shortbread, baking spice and a touch of fresh grass. The finish has vanilla custard, more banana and caramel.
Tullibardine 225 Sauternes Finish
This is a very tasty new whisky which was finished in a 225 litre cask which previously held maturing Sauternes dessert wine from Chateau Suduiraut. The result is golden-coloured delicious single malt.
Aromas of citrus peels and allspice. Notes of creamy vanilla, golden syrup, cocoa butter and black pepper. Spiced palate entry with notes of candied orange and Seville marmalade, a little dried pineapple and white chocolate. Medium finish with lingering sweet spices.
Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve
The perfect accompaniment to the finest cigars, this single malt is matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks , Matusalem oloroso sherry casks and Cabernet Sauvignon barriques.
Aromas of caramel, shortbread, biscuits, coffee and chocolates. Simple, clean and moreish. Yet more toffee and caramel on the palate edging towards burnt cinder-toffee side. Flamed orange zest and perfectly integrated sherry. A reasonably simple finish, orange zest with a touch of clove.
