Lighthouse

Established in 2005 by Neil Catherall, Lighthouse Gin is the culmination of years of hard work, research and native botanicals, brought together to create a truly authentic New Zealand gin. The design and inspiration for this gin came from the Cape Palliser Lighthouse. The founder and Master Distiller, Neil Catherall, spent several years researching and experimenting with a variety of native botanicals, including fresh zest from New Zealand grown Navel Oranges and Yen Ben Lemons, to create a unique small batch gin. During his years of research, Neil designed a 200 litre copper still from scratch and had it built by the local craftsmen. With his custom built and his unique botanical formula complete.

A smooth, fresh gin with magnificent herbal and citrus characteristics. Heavy on the juniper and cardamom with a lovely citrus lift.

Puhoi Organic Bohemian Dry Gin

This bespoke Dry Gin delights the senses with the subtle yet recognizable exotic notes not found in other gins: Manuka flowers, feijoa blossom and other botanicals grown in the spray-free Puhoi valley.

Handcrafted in small batches of (no more than 100 litres per batch) without any haste using Kirichuk family’s original technologies that were perfected during many years of experiments.

All the gin production stages starting from distillation and finishing with the bottling and labelling happen here, up the hill from the Puhoi Pub – at the solar-powered Puhoi Organic Distillery.

Riot & Rose Gin

A traditional, bold, mellow, time-honoured, artisan crafted and small batch distilled gin. Named after the people who rioted in 1743 in London over the tax against gin.

Bright and fresh citrus present initially with bold aromatics in play. Mandarin & orange are punctuated by hints of fennel, star anise &  cardamom, revealing a savoury element.  Notes of spiced pear & quince on the mid-palate provide robustness with tropical fruits giving balance. A kaffir lime finish bites through to provide a strong clean finish.

Black robin gin

Dedicated to the preservation of the black robin for future generations so with every bottle sold there is a donation to help protect wildlife and wild places.

A complex lifted nose, fresh and beguiling. The multilayered substructure of candied lemon and lime zest rises to a gentle botanical mix of chervil, watercress, parsley and mint in the middle that mixes with an exceptional delicacy of liquorice root and star anise to finish.

The piercing clarity of lemongrass and lime zest awakens the sides of the tongue. Meanwhile the weight of the alcohol adds unctuousness to the palate, gently carrying the herbaceous and grassy botanicals through the mouth. The finish leaves an ethereal hint of liquorice root and star anise spices.

The Source

Handcrafted by the team down in Cardrona comes The Source Gin, non-chill-filtered and produced using a mix of rosehip, lemon peel, orange zest alongside the traditional juniper, coriander and angelica root. It is forged by the four seasons that blow through the Cardrona Valley. Because the Source in non-chill-filtered, you will notice the spirit clouds with dilution or when cold – a mark of distinction for this very special drop.

Clean and fresh on the palate, light botanical gin, not so juniper heavy as some traditional gins. Long on the finish with a zesty citrus notes.

Dancing Sands Sacred Spring Barrel Aged

The huge oak flavour shines through with hints of sweetness drawn from the rum casks.

Aged for 3 months, two types of casks were hand-selected: used 14-year Murderer’s Bay Gold Rum barrels and new French Oak barrels. The resulting gin is exceptional. Dancing Sands Barrel Aged Gin is blended and bottled at 48%. The huge oak flavour shines through with hints of sweetness drawn from the rum casks and the juniper, manuka, and spice that is the hallmark of Dancing Sands.
